Mike Leach’ staff keeps expanding the recruiting footprint for the Bulldogs. That continued today, as Mississippi State offered 2021 prospects Denzel Burke and Bram Walden.
4* Denzel Burke (WR)
Denzel Burke rated as the 16th best wide receiver in the country received his offer today from Mississippi State. Burke is from Scottsdale, Az and attends Arizona powerhouse Saguaro High School. Burke is described by 247 as:
Thin build with long arms and projectable frame. Should take good on weight over next few years. Fluid athlete that could thrive on offense or defense. Very good ball skills. Dynamic receiver with quickness to explode out of his breaks. Sets up defenders well to gain separation after the catch. Speed makes him a threat to score from anywhere. Decent in coverage as a defender with fluidity to stick to wideouts. Must improve physicality and durability. Potential multi-year starter and NFL Draft Day 3 selection. – Blair Angulo (247 Sports)
Burke runs a 4.72 40 and measures in at 6-0 175 lbs. Burke has collected offers from LSU, Ohio State, Arizona, Arizona State, Nebraska, Auburn and Mississippi State.
4* Bram Walden (OT)
Another top prospect from Saguaro High School received an offer today from the Bulldogs. Bram Walden rated as the 18th best Offensive Tackle in 2021 class has put together an impressive offer list much like his teammate. Ohio State, Arizona, BYU, Colorado, USC, Texas A&M, Oregon, and Auburn have all offered the 6-4/270 pound junior. His evaluation from 247 Sports describes him as:
Lean frame without much bad weight. Solidly built at around 270 pounds with room to gain mass and strength. Balanced blocker with athleticism and mobility. Quick on his feet, technically sound and agile. Seals blocks on the edge. Consistently reaches second level on run plays. Could become more physical and improve pass-block bend, but doesn’t lack any tenacity or relentlessness. Has positional versatility. Upside to start multiple years at Power Five level and potential NFL Draft Day 3 selection. – Blair Angulo (247 Sports)
Mississippi State fans should be excited that we finally have a staff willing to reach out to players from across the country in hopes of getting them to Starkville, and I believe in the 2021 cycle there could be some surprises up Leach and co. sleeve.
