Stanford transfer quarterback, who is one of the most coveted quarterbacks in the transfer portal right now will officially visit Mississippi State this weekend. Costello has thrown for over 6,000 yards and 60 touchdowns during his time in Palo Alto, and would be a huge asset to any program who gets him.
Costello originally from Rancho Santa Margarita, California was a consensus high 4* rated prospect coming out of high school, and was rated the 3rd best pro style quarterback in the nation. 247 sports describes Costello as:
Costello is one of the best pure throwers in the West region as a junior. He has a big arm, can make every throw and is very accurate. He shows nice touch on the deep ball and can throw the outs and comebacks on a rope. He’s a cerebral QB with a high football IQ and understands how to play the position. He’s a very competitive kid with a strong work ethic off the field and is a natural leader as well.
Costello was being recruited by Mike Leach at Washington State before he got the job in Starkville, and would be a huge get for the Bulldogs if Costello elects to commit to the Bulldogs. Costello’s 247 Crystal Ball is currently 100% for Mississippi State so the odds are looking good on that front. Mississippi State has already hit the portal to get Scott Lashley, former Alabama tackle and are considered one of the favorites to land former 5* linebacker Levi Draper from Oklahoma.
