Mississippi State received some huge news on the recruiting front today, as 4* Safety Myles Mason chose to become a Bulldog.
Mason, who is currently a Senior at Hewitt-Trussville High School in Alabama chose Mississippi State over offers from Auburn, Alabama, Florida State, Louisville, and Tennessee. Mason is considered the 10th best player in the state of Alabama by 247 Sports. Mason had played his High School career and Pleasant Groove, which is a 5A school in the state of Alabama, but he expressed his desire to play at the highest level of football and only play his position his senior year, so he transferred to Hewitt-Trussville, which is a 7A school.
Mason is a tall safety that is really speedy and can fly around the field. Measuring in at 6’2 205, Mason has the perfect measurables to be a SEC safety. Mason’s accolades include making the prestigious al.com A list, which lists the top 15 players in the state of Alabama, which is similar to Clarion Ledger’s Dandy Dozen.
Mason’s commitment continues Mississippi State’s recent surge of commitments for the 2018 and 2019 classes.
