Mississippi State released its 2017-2018 non-conference basketball schedule today featuring three NCAA Tournament teams, as well as four other teams that also participated in the CBI tournament. Mississippi State will play at home for most of the first half of the season with only two games away from Starkville, and no true road games, as the Cincinnati game will be played at Northern Kentucky due to renovations to their stadium. Interesting to note former Mississippi State guard Maurice Dunlap will return to Starkville on November 26th to face his former team. This schedule is a step in the right direction for Mississippi State’s R.P.I. concerns, which have plagued the Bulldogs for the last couple of seasons, but there is still work to be done to get Ben Howland’s strength of schedule up to bar with the top college basketball programs in the nation.
