BREAKING: DJ Stewart commits to Mississippi State

July has been a busy month for Mississippi State recruiting, and with big commitments in all major sports, the usual down month for collegiate athletics has had some serious action. Today, D.J. Stewart, 4* SF from Greenville, MS,  committed to Mississippi State. Stewart joins Reggie Perry as the second commitment in Ben Howland’s 2018 class. Stewart is listed as a small forward by 247, but he projects more as a guard at the next level and with Mississippi State’s roster. Stewart is going into his senior season at Riverside High School, and his recruitment has picked up as he chose Mississippi State over offers from Alabama, Ole Miss, Memphis and Illinois. Stewart’s commitment brings Mississippi State up to the 9th class in the nation, and the top overall in the SEC. Mississippi State also looks to add another prospect to its class with legacy Robert Woodard, who is listed as the top player in Mississippi and is a high 4* small forward.
